Mpumalanga

Situated in the north-eastern corner of the country, Mpumalanga Province is bordered by the Limpopo Province, Mozambique, Swaziland and Gauteng. This province serves as the ideal stop-over for those choosing to travel along the Kwa-Zulu Natal coastline through Swaziland back to Johannesburg or those who want to travel from Johannesburg to Mozambique or the Limpopo Province. Historical sites and villages, old wagon routes and monuments mark events and characters who have passed before in search of adventure and wealth. It is difficult to conceive an area of greater historical, scenic and wildlife diversity anywhere in the world. The lowveld enjoys a semi-tropical climate and can become extremely hot and humid in the height of the summer months. The winter months are however most enjoyable and is the best period to visit from a game viewing point of view.

Bush to Beach

This province is teeming with wild-life and is the ideal place to spot the “Big Five”. Enjoy game viewing in the world-famous Kruger National Park or one of the privately owned game reserves that are situated throughout the area. Enjoy the option of a bush to beach experience by incorporating Mozambique into your itinerary combined with one of the Game Reserves.

Lowveld Legogote Region

Nelpsruit, the administrative capital of the region, is only 4 hours from J’burg and 2 hours from Maputo in Mozambique. It is home to the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and includes the towns of Kaapsehoop – renowned for its Wild Horses, creative and eccentric White River and the Sudwala Caves - home to the oldest dolomite caves in the world.

Highlands Meander Region

Situated only two hours from J’burg, this region is a nature lover’s paradise. Boasting SA’s premier fly-fishing mecca, best rock climbing, most spectacular wild flower displays and a string of quaint historic towns like Dullstroom, Belfast, Lydenburg and Waterval Boven adds to the regions diversity.

The Panorama Region

This region is blessed with many beautiful waterfalls and abounds with some of the most dramatic views over the province from along the eastern slopes of the Drakensberg escarpment. God's Window, the Blyde River Canyon - the world's third largest canyon, with the astonishing Bourke's Luck Potholes and Three Rondawels are all favorite viewing points across the valleys and peaks. Lydenburg and White River are gateways to the region and the quaint towns of Pilgrim's Rest, a living museum dating back to the gold rush era, Sabie, Graskop and Hazyview form part of this region.
