Balule Camp, Kruger Park provides rustic rudimentary conditions for holiday visitors that want an authentic, old time bushveld experience. Without even the most basic facilities found in other restcamps, Balule Camp's rustic atmosphere still appeals to the independent, die-hard camper who enjoys the close-to-nature experience.
Balule Camp is a satellite camp of Satara and Olifants Rest camps, and is divided into two, separated by a fence. One section has 6 three-bedded budget huts and communal bathroom and kitchen facilities. Paraffin lamps provide lighting. Each hut is supplied with linen and towels.
The other section of Balule Camp, Kruger Park offers 15 camping sites for tents and caravans, while a large grove of Natal Mahogany, Baobab and Sausage Trees provides a welcome shade from the sun. Facilities such as a shop, a restaurant and a fuel station are available at Olifants Camp, 11km (6.8 miles) to the north. Balule Camp's huts overlook grassed communal areas that are set in beautiful surroundings and are enclosed by an electric fence.
There are also cooking and braai (barbecue) facilities, making Balule Camp, Kruger Park an ideal place for relaxation. Balule Camp is located on the southern banks of the Olifants River, in the Kruger Natinal Park. It is situated about 11km (7 miles) from Olifants Rest Camp and 87km (54 miles) from Phalaborwa Gate.
