Marakele National Park is set in the heart of the Waterberg Mountains and is home to some rare yellowwood and cedar trees and the world’s largest colony of Cape Vultures. The big game species flourish in this transitional zone between South Africa’s dry and moist regions where the highest ramparts of the Waterberg escarpment meet the acacia savannah. Get close to nature and enjoy the novelty of staying in an unfenced safari camp. The ten furnished tents, sleeping four each, are situated on the scenic banks of the Matlabas River. All tents are self-contained with fully equipped kitchen and barbeque facility. The park is only 250 km from Johannesburg and the camp and surrounding routes are accessible to 4x4 vehicles only.
