Gauteng is home to two vibrant cities namely Johannesburg and Pretoria. Johannesburg , a bustling center of industry, commerce and culture, offers innovative venues and events catering for all tastes. Rich in history this was the center of the gold rush and is known as the city of gold. A visit to Gold Reef city will provide the visitor with an insight into the rich history of the gold rush days. It also offers many fine museums, art galleries, exclusive shopping centers and craft markets.
Pretoria on the other hand is slower in pace and is the administrative capital of the country. A visit to the impressive unions buildings is well worthwhile and a visit to the Voortrekker monument will provide you with a wonderful insight to the history of the early Boer pioneers.
These two cities act as the gateway to the rest of Southern Africa.
