About Letaba Rest Camp

The idyllic Letaba main rest camp is situated on a sweeping bend of the Letaba River, midway between the southern and northern boundaries of the world-renowned Kruger National Park, South Africa. The name means “river of sand”, and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing, particularly elephant, which thrive in the area. Letaba is a green oasis in the surrounding mopane veld, and remains a firm favorite with visitors. At night the stars overlook a symphony of sounds. Owls, nightjars, frogs, fruit bats, crickets and cicadas all vie to be heard, until the lion roars, then all are silent.

DAILY CONSERVATION FEE   Members of SANParks’ loyalty programme WILD do not pay conservation fees provided that proof of Identity and their WILD card are shown on arrival (See WILD details elsewhere on this site)   South African Citizens and Residents (with ID)....................................... R45,00 per person, per day SADC Nationals (with passport)..................................... R90,00 per adult / R45,00 per child, per day Standard Conservation Fee......................................... R180,00 per adult / R90,00 per child, per day   A non-refundablefee, payable in advance, of R26.00 per adult and R13.00 per child is charged on all advance reservations for day visits. This is charged in addition to conservation fees and applies equally to WILD members.
