About
Bawe Tropical Island
• Bawe Tropical Island is exclusive and exquisite bare-foot luxury in the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean.
• The islet lies 6 miles to the west of Zanzibar Town, in the west coast of Zanzibar, and it is reachable in a comfortable 40’ boat ride by a traditional Dhow (fishing boat).
• Bawe Tropical Island creates an innovative up-market concept in the hospitality services in Zanzibar, with its stunning location on a private and secluded island which is at the same time only 40 minutes from Zanzibar Town, its exclusive accommodation and its five star category’ facilities, with fresh water supply and generator to produce electricity. Accommodation at Bawe includes an all inclusive meal plan, with premium drinks, except champagne.
• Bawe Tropical Island has 15 exclusive deluxe rooms discretely distributed along the beach-front and roofed with traditional makuti, thus achieving cool atmosphere day and night. The deluxe rooms are ensuite, with a huge bath tub and shower. Each cottage is provided with a wooden deck facing the sea, covered by a romantic pergola with exotic flowers.
• The exquisite Restaurant features the finest International Cuisine as well as traditional Swahili recipes, with an awesome menu. The Restaurant has a capacity of 35 covers. Delicious grilled fish, daily fresh catches from the surrounding waters, will please the most demanding gourmets.
• Evenings in the Full moon Bar are the most romantic experience, under the rustic candlelight.
• The irresistible swimming-pool at which, for the first time in the history of this islet, fresh water is reaching by a pipeline from Zanzibar mainland, is provided with service from the charming Bar (capacity: 35 covers).
• The most romantic dinners can be organized at the cottages’ private verandah or on the beach.
• From its privileged situation in the western coast of Zanzibar Archipelago, Bawe Tropical Island affords a prime sunset location; the stunning spectacle of the sun setting in the clear African sky can be enjoyed from the Sunset Deck on the highest and most western side of the island, indulging our senses with exotic cocktails from the bar.
