Proclaimed in 1931 when the number of elephant had dwindled to only eleven animals, the park now provides sanctuary to some 300 elephants. The Park, boast the big five and several types of antelope and plenty of bird species in a malaria free environment. The unique flightless dung beetle is treasured and road signs implore visitors to yield to these amazing beetles. Rain occurs throughout the year and with a warm and temperate climate, both animals and vegetation thrive. Attractive six and four-bed cottages and two-bed bungalows are available. All accommodation is serviced daily, providing bedding, towels and soap. Shady caravan and camping sites with communal facilities are also available. |
