Mt Kilimanjaro
One of Africa’s most magnificant sights, Mount Kilimanjaro, an almost perfectly shaped valcano, towers above Tanzania with Africa’s Highest peak reaching
5895 m. It can be climed any time of the year but there is usually a lot of rain during April, May & November with December being the peak period.
Lake Manyara
Lake Manyara, a thin green band of forest flanked by a 600m high escarpment on the one side and the white-hot shores of an ancient soda lake on the other. Acacia woodland shelter the rare tree-climbing lions and the countries densest population of buffalo and elephant feed off the undergrowth while deep in the south of the park the soda lake is covered with thousands of flamigo. Manyara is the perfect location for an active safari.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
The first view of the collapsed crater takes the breath away. It has over 20 000 large animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black Rhino. Known as the eighth wonder of the natural world, this unique animal paradise is home to the Olduvai Gorge, where the first remains of a hominoid were discovered.
Serengeti
Serengeti, meaning endless plains, is Tanzania’s first and most famous park and is renowned for its wealth of leopard and lion. To search for the sometimes elusive wildebeest migration, visit the Serengeti from December to July. For the best chance of finding the migration, allow a minimum of three days or longer.
